Nine students and two teachers from Snowden International School in Boston made a trip to Beijing and Xinglong, Hebei Province between August 19th and September 1st in 2004. Only a day after they arrived in Beijing, the non-stop journey took Boston city kids to the Hebei countryside. The main purpose of the China trip is to see different places in China, and to experience and understand the Chinese culture first hand.
In Hebei Province, students and teachers spent a few days at Bagualing School where they learned to do some farm work and gave classroom presentations to their Chinese counterparts. The experience has had a significant impact on students of both sides and left them with unforgettable memories.
Boston city students also toured Beijing's historical landmarks, where they learned about Chinese history. They were impressed by the speed at which Beijing becoming one of the modern cities in the world.
All of the Boston students wanted to go back to China in 2008 again to participate in the Olympic activities. They are determined to continue their Chinese language study and help disadvantaged kids in the countryside. (album on web)
