June 25th is a very special day for all participants. The American and Chinese inner-city students learnt how to make a fruit bonsai with the help from the teachers and students of Xinglong Vocational School. Through their efforts and collaboration, the students made their first fruit bonsai.They learnt knowledge of the fruit bonsai, and put their knowledge into practice.They selected their own trees and bonsai pots, and collectively decided on how to decorate their product. The students had so much fun and really enjoyed the process of this learning experience.

In the afternoon, the students had a chance to sell their own fruit bonsai to customers on Xinglong streets as a charity activity. They were enthusiastically engaged in the selling. Each of them went out of his/her way to persuade customers to buy the bonsai because they beleive their efforts are for a good a cause. Although the selling experience is the first time for everyone, togother they sold 2/3 of their products.

In the evening, the students shared their personal experience with the Xinglong Vocational School students. Every one was happy to be a part of this very special charity work. The Xinglong students also expressed their gratitude to the American students who did something meaningful and heartwarming.
