Project developments:
- Established 1998
- Prepare planting dates saplings and fertilize the field
in April 1998.
- 40% of the saplings are damaged by drought in the summer.
- In 1999, replanted saplings died more than half because of successive serious drought. On 20 Nov., the PF staff went to the school, joined community council's discussion about the program development and made a final resolution on 23: the remaining program fund were diverted as ‘Special Tuition Assistance ' which supported directly needy children in 2 separate years. Villagers raised some fund and volunteered labor to replant 200 new saplings.
- By Nov. 2001, the program ended, 20 mu of the date farm and 293 date trees belonged to the school permanently.
